I’m currently a junior Bioinformatics/Biology double major with a minor in Statistics at Loyola University Chicago. I want to work towards becoming a physician with an emphasis in research. I am very much interested establishing a universal medical system that is capable of holding patient’s genomes. This will allow us to advance in the field of medicine in the way that pharmacogenomics, diagnosis and treatments will all become more patient-specific. - Emma Highland:
I'm currently a sophomore Bioinformatics/Computer Science double major at Loyola University Chicago. I am interested in studying the evolution of viruses and disease progression and I plan to end up in the research sector. I want to help develop treatments, cures, and increase overall biological understanding of various illnesses. My primary interest is to study these things utilizing my Computer Science background. - Jonathan Lo:
I’m currently a fourth year Bioinformatics/Biology double major in the Honors Program at Loyola Chicago. My main areas of interest are molecular biology and genetics as healthcare today is beginning to incorporate these fields, especially in personalized medicine, to aid in curbing sickness and disease. My goal is to one day become a physician, and studying these areas of interest will give me a greater understanding of medicine as technology and research continue to advance.
